Your Questions About Church Windows

Carol asks…
Does anyone know the name of this anime?
I have seen a few clips of a beautiful Anime a while back and I wondered which Anime it was.
It seems to be a Shounen-Ai anime. One of the characters had long hair (I can’t remember the colour).
I can recall a clip where there was a church or a building with a large stained glass window or some place with weird lighting, and there was alot of red roses. There seemed to be some blood as well somewhere in the anime…
It is possible that one of the characters had died…
Anyway…
If you do know what anime this is I would be ever so grateful if you could tell me so I can find out more info on it!
Thanks in advance!
Sorry about the vague description… I can’t remeber much about

Sandy asks…
My Heart is all for it but my mind is against it?
In my local Church which I attend (even though I am not a Christian) I when I take communion (they let me do that they are very nice) I see a stained glass window of Jesus in the last supper and my emotions say maybe this is the right faith but the mind buts in and says “no this is not what I believe” so why is the heart willing but the mind against it? so what can I do to fix this?

Doug answers:
Ask God to reveal the truth to you. If you are diligent and sincere you will find truth. Speak to the minister of that church and open up your thoughts and questions to him. Any elder of the church would be happy to help you.

Sharon asks…
The crazy man and the preacher?
During one church service whilst the preacher is up giving his sermon a man comes in and he’s all dirty and he has on these ragged clothes. He stands in the middle of the aisle and listens intently until the preacher mentions miracles. He then starts to rage “You’re a liar! You’re a liar! There are no miracles and you can’t do miracles! You are lying!” This tirade went on for about five minutes as he walked up and own the aisle until the preacher came down from the pulpit grabbed the man by the scruff of the neck and threw him through a stained glass window. He then turned to the congregation and explained “I may not be able to do miracles but I can cast out devils!”

Doug answers:
I wouldnt think of this as a joke. It would be under religion. But its good

John asks…
Christians why is this?
In my local Church which I attend (even though I am not a Christian) I when I take communion (they let me do that they are very nice) I see a stained glass window of Jesus in the last supper and my emotions say maybe this is the right faith but the mind buts in and says “no this is not what I believe” so why is the heart willing but the mind against it? so what can I do to fix this?
Any other advice

Doug answers:
I think it’s human nature to be skeptical of things we can’t see or explain especially since we’re brought up not to be taken advantage of by friends, businesses etc…. I believe that God understands this. The only thing I can suggest is to keep searching your heart and open it to the Lord.
Have you read “The Case for Christ” by Lee Strobel? If not, then maybe you should. Also, The Year of Living Biblically
Blessings on your faith journey.

Donald asks…
Does this excerpt from my new novel sound good?
Before I can do anything else, those tall mahogany doors that I gazed upon, opened; not just to the inside of a grand church, packed with the noblemen, the wealthy, and the well educated but to an entirely new world, a new chapter of both great responsibility and glory.
There at the end of that isle was my future, destiny, whatever one might call it…, right there in front of the pope himself.
With that, I sighed, and somehow found myself to be walking down the isle.
How I got the courage to start walking down there will be a mystery to me.
My God, I though, that isle…that isle was long, and the sound of my boots echoed as they hit the marble tiles which gleamed colorfully because of the sunlight from the stain glass windows.
Everyone watched with anticipation, as I walked, it seemed like it would take me years to march up to the pope, but it only took me about a minute.
I stood there, thinking…, here it comes, the crown.
I kneeled before the altar, and I felt a large metal object be adorned atop my head.
I knew it was the crown, but I could not help in having some disbelief in what had just happend.
It was me that had stood before that door, it was me that had walked down that church isle, and it was me that had just had a crown placed atop his head.
Now, that time had come, for me to turn around, to turn around and face the people, my people.
The last time they saw my frail, young face, my green eyes, my brownish-blond hair, my nervous facial expression, I was just a lonely prince, but now they prepare themselves to gaze upon the face of a supposed King.
I am supposed to be the one, the one who they expect to lead them to glory, the one who they expect to keep their country strong and united, and the one who they expect to keep them from the hands of the treacherous and barbaric Arian Varvondians.
Such responsibilities make me even more nervous, people’s lives are in my hands, our whole civilization is in my hands.
Me, a young man of twenty-three, I can’t help think, will I succeed, will I conquer, or will I be conquered.
If we fall, it will be my fault, and my fault only.
My mind was clouded with these thoughts, and yet, I decided that it would be shameful for me to ruin such a moment with my worrying.
It is time to face my people, my problems can be solved later.
So, after removing every negative thought from my mind, I reluctantly turned to my people, and as soon they took a glance at my face, they cheered enthusiastically.
The clapping and shouting echoed through the church up to the heavens, the peoples praise and endorsements rang through my ears.
Dear Lord, it had just came to my mind that I, Prince Robert was now…, King.
What do you think, I think it needs alot of work, but I can’t put my fingur on it. What does it need and what needs to be improved, tell me what you think. Please be as harsh as much as you need to without being rude. I would much appreciate it.
Wow, thank you for the criticisms, I much appreciate it.

Doug answers:
It suffers from a lack of dialog and too much exposition. What you’re doing is trying to cram a whole bunch of information into places that don’t feel natural to the rhythm of the story. Your character is, from what I see here, supposed to be excited about something. So you want quick, direct language to convey the observations and thoughts streaming rapidly from the boy’s head.
A good trick is to read a book just before you begin writing. This way, the rhythm and selection of language will be fresh in your head when you begin writing. Here’s the first paragraph, cleaned up:
“Before I could react, those tall church doors suddenly opened to reveal row after row of wealthy, upturned faces that seemed to be ushering me towards this new chapter of my life.”
See how the language moves and the information doesn’t seem too squished together? This isn’t a particularly great sentence either, but it’s a little less choppy than the original. And what happens is we eliminate some extraneous information, but if you wanted to include some of it you could always do it later. Novels are very long, and you’ve got plenty of room to say everything.
